In Loving Memory

Nyla Huber
January 24, 1941 — February 12, 2026
With heavy hearts and loving memories, we celebrate the life of Nyla Huber, a cherished soul who touched the hearts of many. Nyla departed this world on February 12, 2026, at the age of 85, following a courageous battle with COPD. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, in the comfort of her home in Highbridge, Wisconsin, the same town where her remarkable journey began on January 24, 1941.
Born to Antony and Olive Kerr, Nyla was the youngest of a spirited family, now reunited with her beloved siblings, Bob, Bill, Harold, Ray, Lyle, Lulabelle, and James, who predeceased her. Her early life in Highbridge was marked by a strong sense of community and a deep love for her family. She graduated from Mellen High School in 1959, carrying with her a dedication to lifelong learning and a joy for simple pleasures.
On May 17, 1967, Nyla married the love of her life, Robert Huber. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and compassion, raising their children with love and wisdom. Nyla's gentle spirit and nurturing nature were most evident in her role as a homemaker, where she poured her heart into creating a loving environment for her family. Her hands were seldom still, often found crocheting or knitting gifts that would become treasured family heirlooms. With a sharp mind and an unwavering curiosity, she delighted in solving crossword puzzles, a pastime that kept her engaged and inspired.
Nyla's legacy of love and kindness continues through her surviving family: her devoted daughter, Susan Huber; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Shelly Huber; her cherished grandchildren, Kevin Dorn and Laura James; and her precious great-grandchild, who brought her immense joy in her later years. Her family was her greatest pride, and she took every opportunity to convey her love and encouragement to them all.
A woman of grace and humility, Nyla's presence was a beacon of hope and comfort. Her laughter was infectious, her patience profound, and her empathy boundless. She taught those around her the true meaning of selflessness and the beauty of a life devoted to others.
In remembering Nyla, we honor a life well-lived, filled with love, resilience, and joy. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light to those she leaves behind, a testament to a woman who truly understood the art of living with grace and gratitude.
A memorial service to honor Nyla's life will be held on a date to be announced, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her enduring legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory, as a way to continue her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Nyla Huber's memory will remain forever in our hearts, a loving reminder of the beauty she brought into this world. May her gentle soul rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who went before her.
