Norris Riddy

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Norris Riddy, who departed from this world on August 6, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on November 9, 1957, in the vibrant city of New York, Norris was the cherished son of John Riddy and Velma Thompson Riddy. Norris grew up in a close-knit family and was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Velma, and his siblings: Eric Riddy, John David Riddy, Phillis Riddy, and Debbie Riddy Gridine. Despite these profound losses, Norris’s spirit remained indomitable. Educated in New York City Schools, Norris embraced the values of hard work and dedication early in life. He spent his career as a car washer, where he was known not just for his meticulous work but also for the warm smile he brought to those around him. His colleagues and clients alike remember him as a man of integrity and kindness. Outside of work, Norris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often spending his weekends by the water, finding peace and reflection in nature’s embrace. Another of Norris's passions was dancing. Known for his love to dance, he could often be found on the dance floor, moving to the rhythm of life with joy and exuberance. Norris’s legacy is carried on by his beloved partner, Linda Cassidy, and his children, Shamelce, Shawn, and Latoya, who were the pride of his life. As a devoted father, Norris instilled in them the values of love, resilience, and kindness. He was also a doting grandfather to six grandchildren and a joyful great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory and the love he shared. Though Norris has left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends will always remember his warmth, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Norris’s generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Norris Riddy will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he created will remain with us forever. As we celebrate his life, we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those who have gone before him, dancing joyfully among the stars.
