Norman 'Norm' Pickvet
July 26, 1966 — October 8, 2026
In loving memory of Norman 'Norm' Pickvet, who peacefully departed from this world on October 8, 2026, after bravely facing a long battle with lung cancer. Norm was born on July 26, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to family and community.
Norm was the beloved husband of Phyllis, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey began in May of 1981, and together they created a beautiful family, blessed with four children. Norm was a devoted father to Cindy (Dave) Chaffin, Gary Pickvet, and Kelly (LaFayette). He was predeceased by his cherished son, Norman Pickvet Jr. Norm's legacy of love continues through his 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.
A man of deep faith, Norm was an active member of his local church, embodying the principles of his Christian faith in every aspect of his life. His warmth and kindness were truly infectious, and he never met a stranger — once you knew Norm, you had a friend for life.
Norm's zest for life was evident in his many passions. An avid fisherman, he found serenity and joy on the water with his children and grandchildren aboard his beloved boat, "Cherish." In the kitchen, Norm was known for his adventurous spirit, often experimenting with new recipes, though his chicken and dumplings remained a family favorite. He was a constant presence at every recital and sports event, proudly cheering from the front row as his children's and grandchildren's number one fan.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Janet Pickvet, and his brother, Frederick Pickvet, Norm's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His light lives on in the hearts of those he touched with his generosity and unwavering friendship.
A service to celebrate Norm's extraordinary life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Norm's giving spirit.
Norm Pickvet's life was a testament to the power of love and friendship, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
