October 15, 1993 - March 31, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Norman Joseph Tate, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, who left us far too soon on March 31, 2026. Born in the vibrant city of Gulfport, Mississippi, on October 15, 1993, Norman was a beacon of light to all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
Norman was the cherished son of Norman Bradley and Lasheba Tate, who raised him to be the compassionate and determined individual we all came to admire. He is predeceased by his loving grandparents, James Tate Sr. and Janit Tate, whose legacy he carried with pride.
A devoted father, Norman's love for his son, Jamari Tate, was immense and unwavering. He took great joy in watching Jamari grow, always providing guidance, support, and encouragement. The bond they shared was a testament to Norman's character and the deep love he held for his family.
Norman is survived by a close-knit circle of siblings who deeply mourn their loss yet celebrate the life he lived. His sisters, Diashel Gayden, India Seliby, and Precious Bradley, remember him as a protective and caring brother who always had a kind word and a listening ear. His brothers, Norman Bradley III, Emon Hall, and William Seliby III, recall his infectious laughter and the strength he imparted to them during life's challenges.
A service to honor Norman's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Hartwell Funeral Home. We invite all those who knew and loved Norman to join us in celebrating the vibrant and meaningful life he led.
The family of Norman J. Tate wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown their love and support during this most difficult time. We are deeply appreciative of the many acts of kindness expressed to us, which have provided comfort and solace in our hour of grief. We would like to extend a special acknowledgment to Cemon Mack, Teecowwaa Burnett, Erica Riley, and William Seliby Jr. for their unwavering support and compassion.
As we bid farewell to Norman, we hold onto the memories and the legacy of love he leaves behind. Though his time with us was short, his impact was profound, and his spirit will forever be a guiding light in our lives. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
