December 30, 1967 — May 26, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Hazen Barlow, a cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Norman left this world on May 26, 2026, at the age of 58, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born on December 30, 1967, in Clinton, Iowa, Norman was the beloved son of Orland and Ethel Barlow. He grew up in a close-knit family, and his early years were filled with warmth and companionship. Norman graduated from Washougal High School in 1986, paving the way for a life enriched by hard work and dedication. Norman was a man of many talents, dedicating his career to his work as an electrician and instrument technician. He was highly respected in his field, contributing his skills to the Steamfitters Union 342 and AWPPW. Known for his strong work ethic, Norman took immense pride in his work, always striving to excel and lend a helping hand to his colleagues. Outside of his professional life, Norman was a man of diverse interests and passions. He had a particular fondness for barbequing, wrestling, and golfing. He was known for his love of chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake. A devoted family man, Norman's heart swelled with pride when speaking of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving mother, Ethel Barlow; his child, Brooke Barlow and her partner, Jeremy Fratt; his stepchildren, Michael Moraga, Robert Moraga, Christine Moraga, Brandon Eason, KC Craven, Chelsea Jenson, Dakota Taylor, and Jade Brizzee. His grandchildren, Braelynn Fratt, Kolten Fratt, Maverick Fratt, and Jackson Fratt, along with his step-grandchildren, Logan Eason, Sophie Eason, Sawyer Eason, Alex Baker, Adelina Craven, Emmie Craven, Aiden Jenson, Zakai Schantz, Xephyra Schantz, and Zelda Schantz, all adored their grandpa, who was a constant source of joy and wisdom. Norman is also survived by his siblings, Kimberly Huckabee and her husband Terry, Robert Barlow and his wife Roslyn, and Cynthia Barlow Bickford and her husband Darin. His loving fiancée, Patti Kraft, brought immense happiness into his life, and together they shared plans for a bright future. His former spouse Traci Barlow who mourns his loss also. Norman was preceded in death by his father, Orland Barlow, his brother, Nathan Barlow, and nephew, Kenneth Barlow. Although their absence left a void in his heart, Norman carried their memories with him always. Remembered for his giving nature and willingness to teach, Norman touched the lives of many. His kindness, generosity, and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who knew him. As a man of faith and principle, he lived his life with integrity and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered. In honor of Norman’s life, the family suggests donations to the Washougal High School wrestling team via the ASB office or the Toro Wrestling Club via the link https://square.link/u/nwFpRLsf?src=sms, reflecting Norman's love of wrestling. A celebration of Norman’s life will be held to honor the beautiful journey he shared with us. It will be held at The Youth and Family Center at 907 Douglas St., Longview, WA 98632 at 1pm. Norman Hazen Barlow will forever be remembered as a loving father, a devoted son, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend. I’m Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee, God wanted me now; He set me free.

Reception
