June 3, 1958 — October 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Daniel Swanson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Norm, as he was affectionately known, was born on June 3, 1958, in Washington. He peacefully departed from this world on October 16, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of his family, after bravely battling stage 4 lung cancer. Norm's life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and love. Born to George Norman Swanson and Norma Jane Sedgwick, he grew up in a family that valued hard work and integrity. Norm was predeceased by his father and his brother, Lance, who succumbed to brain cancer at a young age. His memory will be cherished by his surviving mother, Norma Lowe, sister Doreen Murphy, and brother Larry Blair. In December 2019, Norm married the love of his life, Debra Swanson. Their nearly seven years together were filled with laughter, adventure, and a shared passion for exploring the world. Debra was not just his wife but his partner in building a life full of love and joy. Norm's legacy lives on through his children: sons Daniel Swanson and Ryan Swanson, and daughters Alisha Villanueva-Morones, Skylinn Bradley, and Sadie Swanson. He was also a proud grandfather to Austyn Villanueva-Morones, who brought immense joy to his life. A man of strong principles and an unyielding work ethic, Norm graduated from Inglewood High School in California in 1977. He further pursued his education at Linn-Benton Community College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science in 1994, paving the way for his career as an HVAC technician. Norm worked in the sawmills of Oregon before moving to Colorado, where he dedicated 30 years to his craft before retiring in October 2025. Norm was a lifetime Bible believer and a proud member of the Camaro club. He found joy in traveling with Debra, tending to his garden, and working on and racing his beloved Camaro. His laughter, described as full and hearty, was a hallmark of his vibrant personality. A service to honor and celebrate Norm's life will be held on October 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Golden Ponds, located at 2651 3rd Ave, Longmont, CO 80503. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are welcome to join in remembrance of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a cancer research organization or hospice care of your choice, in memory of Norm's courageous battle and the compassionate care he received. Norm's life was a beacon of strength and love. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
