September 13, 1936 — July 12, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Norma Jean Allen Dooley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Norma left this world peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by several of her loving children. Born on September 13, 1936, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, Norma was the cherished daughter of Joseph Carl Allen and Aura Ola Leavitt. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her dear sons, Brian and Michael. She now rests in the arms of those who have gone before her. Norma led a life full of love, dedication, and service. In 1954, she married Albert Barlow Dooley, with whom she shared an enduring bond, even after their paths diverged. She was the proud mother of six devoted children: Kathleen Peak, Terry (Bryce) Jolley, Wendy (Doug) Syphus, Ronald (April) Dooley, Lisa (Tom) Satzaar, and Jennifer (Lane) Morgan. Her legacy lives on through her 34 grandchildren and a remarkable 1,000 great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit forward. A proud graduate of Dixie High School in 1953, Norma pursued her passion for helping others by completing her nursing education in 1977. She embarked on a fulfilling 30-year career as a registered nurse at Dixie Regional Medical Center, where her compassion and professionalism touched countless lives. Norma was an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, finding great joy in serving others through various church organizations. Her faith and devotion were pillars of strength for her and her family. Beyond her professional and spiritual endeavors, Norma was a talented homemaker and a culinary artist. She delighted in sewing clothes for her children and crafting meals and treats that brought joy to those around her. Her secret snickerdoodle recipe remains a cherished challenge for her descendants, a testament to her enduring influence and love for family traditions. Norma's life was a testament to living, caring, serving, and enjoying others, especially her large, loving family. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. A service honoring the extraordinary life of Norma Jean Allen Dooley will be held on July 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington LDS Ward. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Norma's life of service and love. May her spirit continue to inspire us all.
