It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Norine Jensen Holmberg, whose gentle spirit and love enveloped all who had the privilege of knowing her. Norine passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with physical ailments. Her heart, which had given so much love and kindness, finally found rest, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
Born on October 2, 1946, in the bustling city of New York, Norine was the beloved daughter of Ray and Ida Jensen. She grew up with an unwavering dedication to family values, a testament to the loving environment cultivated by her parents and her brother, George, who predeceased her.
Norine's life was beautifully intertwined with that of her devoted husband, Norman Holmberg. They were married on May 4, 1969, and together they celebrated over 27 years of marriage, raising their three cherished sons and building a home filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Norman passed away on December 11, 1996, but the love they shared continued to inspire all who knew them.
Throughout her life, Norine was known for her warmth and infectious smile. Her quick wit and unique sense of humor brought joy to many, and her caring nature was evident in her professional and personal endeavors. She found fulfillment in her work as a receptionist at various veterinary clinics, healthcare businesses, and doctors' offices, where she cultivated many wonderful friendships.
Norine's greatest joy, however, was her family. Her hobbies revolved around the people she loved most, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons: Robert Holmberg and his wife Rhonda, along with grandchildren Trevor and Hagen; Norman Holmberg and his wife Heather, with grandchildren Kevin and his wife Raquel, Chris, Katey, and great-granddaughter Kennedy; and Raymond Holmberg and his wife Emily, with grandchildren Benjamin and Lila. Her beloved dog, Nancy, was also a constant companion, offering comfort and loyalty.
Norine is predeceased by her parents, Ray and Ida Jensen, her husband, Norman Holmberg, and her brother, George Jensen. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends.
A service to celebrate Norine's remarkable life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather at the First Methodist Church of Maiden, located at 303 North Main Avenue, Maiden, NC 28650. There, we will honor her life, share our memories, and find comfort in the love she spread so generously.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Norine's memory to a charity that supports families and communities, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Norine Jensen Holmberg will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the endless love she gave to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and family devotion will continue to inspire us all.
