Nora Padgett
June 24, 1967 — March 28, 2026
In loving memory of Nora Padgett, who passed away peacefully at her home on March 28, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on June 24, 1942, in the quaint town of Pensacola, Florida, Nora graced this world with her gentle spirit and compassionate heart for 74 wonderful years.
The cherished daughter of Joe and Mary Lee Padgett, Nora was raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her early years were spent in the company of her beloved sister, Gracey Lee, and her brother, John, both of whom predeceased her and now welcome her into the arms of eternity.
Nora was a proud graduate of Rosemont High, where she fostered lifelong friendships and began to nurture her many interests. Her life was a testament to kindness and devotion, and she was a steadfast believer in God’s promises. Her faith was a guiding light, not only in her life but also in the lives of those she touched.
A devoted mother, Nora is survived by her three sons, Keith, Nathan, and James Padgett, who each carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. Her nurturing spirit was a beacon for her family, and her heart was a haven for her 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory dear.
Nora's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, generosity, and faith. She found joy in simple pleasures and took great delight in the laughter of her family gathered around her. Her home was always open, a place where everyone was welcomed with warmth and kindness.
A private family service will be held to honor Nora's remarkable life at Mount Zion Baptist Church, located at 1300 N Guillemard St. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to remember Nora do so by living with the same kindness, faith, and generosity that she shared so freely with the world.
As we bid farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, we take solace in the words of scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord." Nora's legacy is one of compassion, devotion, and a steadfast belief that transcends this earthly life. She has been welcomed into her eternal home, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and embraced by the peace of her Savior.
May her memory be a blessing and may her spirit continue to guide us all in love and faith.
