Nora L. (Twitchell) Proctor

December 7, 1933 — July 4, 2026

Nora L. (Twitchell) Proctor, born on December 7, 1933, in the serene landscapes of Howard County, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2026. Nora lived a life that was as rich and profound as the Missouri soil she was born upon, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. The daughter of Walter Twitchell and Maudie Jane Hayes, Nora was the youngest of eleven children, and she cherished the warmth and camaraderie that came with being part of a large family. Her siblings, who predeceased her, were an integral part of her upbringing, teaching her the values of love, patience, and resilience. Nora was married to the late Charles Proctor, a partnership that was grounded in mutual respect and unwavering love. Together, they built a life filled with joy and laughter, and though Charles passed before her, his memory remained a guiding light in Nora's life. A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nora's legacy lives on through her beloved children—Karen Sue (Jim) Pawlus, Walter Paul (Skip) Prichard, and Pamela Elaine (Coyle). Her family expanded with six grandchildren—Kim, Joe, Julie, Rebecca, Rebecca, Jenifer, and Justin—and eight great-grandchildren—Reese, Ben, Connor, Ivan, Chet, Katie, Little John, and Lainee. Nora's heart was a wellspring of love, not just for her immediate family but also for her stepdaughter Regina Frankie and her husband Rex, as well as her cousins Margaret Sue and Ida Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nora's warmth and kindness were evident in her interactions with everyone she encountered. Known for her gentle spirit and compassionate nature, she was adored by all who knew her and will be dearly missed by the community she enriched with her presence. A service to honor Nora's remarkable life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 415 N St Louis Ave, Joplin, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, a reflection of Nora's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to Nora, we hold onto the memories of her gentle smile, her unwavering love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
