It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Nina Griffin on August 13, 2026. Nina was born on February 19, 1945, in Canton, Mississippi, to Lamar and Ruth Carson. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. Nina was predeceased by her parents, Lamar and Ruth Carson; her sister, Minnie Williams; brothers, James Curtis, Carl Lee, Irvin, and Marvin Carson; her cherished son, Dorian Griffin; and her devoted husband, Herman Griffin. Though her family has faced many losses, their memories of Nina will continue to shine brightly in their hearts. She is survived by her loving children: Elvis Griffin, Donald Griffin, and Lashonda Luckett (Charlie Luckett). Nina was also a proud and doting grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life. Nina was a graduate of Jordan High School in Carthage, Mississippi, where she formed friendships and developed values that would guide her throughout her life. Her educational journey laid the foundation for a life of learning, service, and dedication to her community. A celebration of Nina's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at Greenwood Chapel, located on Greenwood Chapel Rd, beginning at 11:07 a.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Nina are invited to gather in her memory and honor the legacy she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that reflects Nina's generous spirit and her commitment to helping others. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone for the love and support shown during this time of bereavement. Your kindness and compassion have provided comfort and strength as they navigate this profound loss. Nina's legacy is one of love, strength, and grace. She will be remembered as a matriarch, a confidante, and a friend who touched the lives of many. Her warm smile, gentle words, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed but forever cherished.
