Nina Allen Taylor

July 23, 1945 — May 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Nina Allen Taylor, who departed this world peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 23, 1945, in the peaceful town of Princeton, Kentucky, Nina was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nina was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Salyers and Elizabeth Soden Salyers, and she was welcomed into their family alongside her brothers Harold, Cecil, Johnny, Butch, Leroy, and Frankie Salyers, and her dear sisters Annie Mae Jackson, Betty Jackson, Margaret Bruce, and Vonda Sue Hogan. She was as much a guiding light for her siblings as she was a beloved daughter. In her early years, Nina's life was marked by her deep love for family and her vibrant spirit. She married twice in her lifetime, first to Charles Edward Allen and later to Teddy Wayne Taylor, Sr., both of whom preceded her in death. From these unions, she was blessed with a son, Charles Edward Allen, Jr., and a daughter, Tammy Polk, who survives her, along with her son-in-law, Kevin. Nina's heart brimmed with love for her grandchildren, Greg Creekmur, Dylan Polk, Hannah Allen, and Haley Smith, who were the apple of her eye. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Elijah, Jensen, Lincoln, Lucas, and Arya, whose lives she enriched with her tales of wisdom and boundless affection. Her family expanded further when she embraced the role of a stepmother to Teddy Wayne Taylor, Jr., and Debbie Nelson, whom she loved as her own. Her step-grandchildren, Adam Hughes, Courtney Hale, Paul Scott Nelson, Teddy Wayne Taylor, III, and Elizabeth Taylor, will fondly remember the warmth of her embrace and the joy she brought into their lives. The family tree grows with her step-great-grandchild, Raygan Hale, who will carry forward the legacy of love she instilled. Nina worked with dedication at DDP Plastics in Kuttawa, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her work ethic and kindness. Yet, her true joy lay in the time she spent with her family and friends, sharing laughter and creating memories that will forever be treasured. Her love for animals was unparalleled, and she found immense comfort in the companionship of her beloved dog, Toby Taylor, who remained by her side, a testament to her nurturing spirit. In her passing, Nina is reunited with her parents, her first husband Charles, her second husband Teddy, and her siblings who went before her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. A celebration of Nina's life will be held to honor her memory, a gathering where stories and memories will be shared, and her spirit will be celebrated in the laughter and tears of those who love her. She will be dearly missed, yet her legacy of love will continue to inspire and guide us. May Nina Allen Taylor rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so abundantly shared during her time on Earth.
