In Loving Memory

Nikki Babey
April 13, 1972 — May 20, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Nikki Babey on May 20, 2026. Nikki, who was born on April 13, 1972, in Endicott, NY, departed this world in the comfort of her home, embraced by the tranquility of sleep. She was 54 years old.
Nikki was the cherished daughter of the late Dorris and James Dancesia, and her former husband Ray Gasbarra who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms in the hereafter. Her legacy of love and kindness is carried on by her devoted husband, Nicholas, whom she married on a beautiful day, August 24, 2024. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Nikki's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a devoted mother to her three sons, Evan, Corey, and Ray, who were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, who shared in her life's joys and sorrows.
Nikki's journey of learning began at Endicott High School and continued at SUNY College, where she graduated with a degree in Human Resources. Her career was marked by dedication and professionalism as she worked as a Human Resource Business Partner for noted companies like Stick, FedEx, Amazon, and Coca-Cola. Her commitment to her work was driven by a genuine care for others, and she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her integrity and warmth.
Outside of her professional life, Nikki had a zest for adventure and the great outdoors. She found peace and joy in kayaking and cherished her time by the beach, where the waves mirrored her free spirit. Recently, she had taken up golf, embracing the challenge with her characteristic enthusiasm. A passionate supporter of the Yankees and the Buffalo Bills, Nikki's love for sports was as dynamic as her personality. At home, she found solace in watching wildlife from the lanai, a quiet pastime that reflected her deep appreciation for nature's beauty.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the love and care Nikki received from the wonderful staff at Trinity Hospital and the compassionate team at Lifelink. Our heartfelt thanks extend to the paramedics and the 911 operator who responded with swift empathy.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Nikki's life, allowing her family and close friends to celebrate her vibrant spirit and the indelible impact she made on everyone she knew.
Though Nikki's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever illuminate the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to guide and inspire us.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Nikki, as a tribute to her generous and compassionate nature.
Rest in peace, dear Nikki, in a place where the sun always shines, and the waters are forever calm. Your life was a beautiful journey, and your memory will remain an everlasting treasure. ❤️
