Her legacy continues through her nephew Skyler Maurice King; nieces Tia King, LeDeysia Perdue, and Victoria Woolridge; great-nephew Skyler King Jr. and Max Nipsey; and great-niece Queen. Her extended family includes uncles Michael Patterson (Brook) and Howard Cotham (Gwen); aunts Mary Meeks and Tammie Holland; great-uncle Willie Ed King (Ann); and great-aunts Dorothy Campbell and Elsie Buchanan. Nicole will also be dearly missed by her special cousin Geneva "Pumkin" Johnson, and her lifelong friends Regina Russell and Doney Garner, along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
Nicole was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Curtis Rankins and Robert Earl Meeks Sr.; grandmothers, Annie L. King and Martha "Meme" Patterson; brother, Terry Leon Hoskins; uncle, Robert Earl Meeks Jr.; and cousin, Robert "Tee" Johnson. Their spirits welcome her with open arms.
Nicole received her education through the Indianapolis Public Schools system and attended Emmerich Manual High School, where her innate curiosity and zest for learning were evident. She embarked on a career with Excel in 2000, demonstrating dedication and excellence in her work. In 2024, she ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Next Level Eatery LLC, where she combined her passion for cooking with her business acumen.
Nicole's love for movies and television was a source of joy in her life, with favorites such as "Lean on Me" and "What's Happening" providing moments of laughter and introspection. She delighted in cooking and catering events, always eager to share her culinary creations with others. A tech enthusiast at heart, she enjoyed assembling electronics and computers, often surprising friends and family with her skills. Shopping, traveling, and savoring KFC's honey barbecue wings were among the simple pleasures she cherished.
Nicole was a person of exceptional generosity and thoughtfulness, known for her daily calls to her parents, inquiring with genuine concern, "Do y'all need anything? Just let me know." Her love was expressed through the thoughtful gifts of money, clothes, shoes, and music she frequently bestowed upon those she cared for.
A celebration of Nicole's life will be held in Indianapolis, where her family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. As we bid farewell to our dear Nicole, we hold her in our hearts, forever grateful for the love and joy she brought into our lives. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends leave an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
