In Loving Memory

Nick Johnston
March 2, 1999 — October 1, 2026
The world became a bit dimmer on October 1st, 2026, as Nick Johnston of Rochester, Indiana, departed from this life at the tender age of 27. Born on March 2nd, 1999, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Nick was the beloved son of Ashley and John Johnston. His life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and a profound dedication to his family, friends, and passions.
Nick’s journey began in Lewisburg, but his heart soon found a home in Evansville, Indiana, where he married the love of his life, Erica Taylor, on a warm summer’s day, July 2nd, 2021. Together, they built a life filled with joy and companionship. Nick was a devoted father to his cherished children, Sarah and Michael Johnston, who were the light of his life.
An alumnus of Portland High School in Tennessee, Nick graduated on May 19th, 2018, with a determination that led him to pursue higher education. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Data Entry from Indiana University in Bloomington on July 29th, 2022. His passion for technology and helping others found a perfect match in his role as an IT Analyst at Stellantis, where he worked with dedication from August 11th, 2022, until his untimely passing.
Nick's heart and mind were as open as his smile, which he offered freely to strangers and friends alike. His journey with faith began in earnest in 2021 when he joined the First Baptist Church community, a place where he found solace and camaraderie. While agnostic before, his time there enriched his spirit and deepened his connections with those around him.
Beyond his professional achievements and community involvement, Nick was a man of simple joys. He loved gaming and music, and he had an uncanny knack for fixing broken electronics, provided he could find the parts online. His love for technology was matched only by his love for people and his readiness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Nick is survived by his wife, Erica, and their children, Sarah and Michael, along with his parents, Ashley and John, as well as his siblings, Ashton and McKayla. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, his laughter, and the warmth he brought into their lives.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held on October 18th, 2026, at Grace Church, located at 201 W 7th St, Rochester, IN. Services will begin at 12:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a soul well-loved.
