Nicie Young

October 23, 1942 — March 20, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Nicie Young, who left this earthly realm on March 20, 2026. Nicie was born on October 23, 1942, in the warm embrace of Waco, Texas, to the late Joe Young Sr. and Josephine Green. Her life was a tapestry of resilience, humor, and love, woven together with threads of family, friendship, and authenticity. Nicie was a proud graduate of Moore High School, Class of 1962. Her education laid the foundation for a life marked by wisdom and sincerity. Her classmates and teachers knew her as a spirited young woman who spoke her mind and touched hearts with her genuine personality. To know Nicie was to experience her vibrant spirit and unparalleled wit. She had a unique ability to keep it real with everyone she encountered, never shying away from speaking her truth. Her humor was legendary, and her laughter was infectious, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to be in her presence. Though some may have mistaken her frankness for sharpness, those who truly knew her understood that Nicie was, above all, a realist with a heart as expansive as the Texas skies. Family was at the core of Nicie's being. She was the cherished mother to her two children, Johnsla Kay Young and Timothy Ray Young, who were the pride and joy of her life. She raised them with love, guiding them with her wisdom and humor. Johnsla and Timothy carry forward her legacy, embodying the values she instilled in them. Nicie's life was enriched by her relationships with her siblings: Manuel Powell, Mary Young Harvey, Billy Caldwell, Betty Young, Joel Young Jr., Darlene Harris, and Emma Harris. Her siblings were her lifelong companions, each sharing in the laughter and love that only a family can provide. Preceded in death by her devoted parents, Joe Young Sr. and Josephine Green, Nicie's passing marks the end of an era for those who loved her. Yet, her spirit endures in the hearts and memories of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved. In celebrating Nicie's life, we remember her as a woman who embraced life fully, with honesty, humor, and an unwavering love for her family. Her legacy is one of strength and authenticity, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. As we say farewell, we hold tightly to the memories and lessons she imparted, cherishing the indelible mark she left on our lives. A celebration of Nicie’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share in the stories that define her remarkable journey. Rest in peace, dear Nicie. Your laughter echoes in our hearts, and your spirit shines brightly in the lives you touched.
