Nichole Rita Martinez
July 24, 1970 — September 16, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nichole Rita Martinez, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully at home on September 16, 2026. Born on July 24, 1970, in Ogden, Utah, Nichole was the cherished daughter of Lorenzo and Lucy Garcia.
Nichole's journey in life was one marked by warmth, love, and a deep dedication to her family and friends. A proud alumna of Ogden High School, she graduated in 1988, ready to embrace the world with open arms and her radiant smile.
She made the Ogden Standard Examiner Newspaper for being the "youngest softball team member" "The Panthers" coached by her mom. She was even in the Movie 3'Oclock High which was filmed at OHS.
She found her soulmate in Jose "Hemo" Martinez II, with whom she shared a beautiful life and welcomed the joy of their lives, their son, Jose Todd Martinez III. As a wife and mother, Nichole's love and devotion knew no bounds. Her family was her world, and she was the heart of her home.
Nichole had a passion for cooking that brought her family together, filling their home with the irresistible aromas of beans, tacos, tortillas, tamales, enchiladas, and buenelos. Her cooking was a testament to her love, especially cherished by her father, who declared her dishes the best, even compared to her mom's. Nichole herself delighted in the simple pleasures of liver and onions, chicken fried steak, Chick-Fil-A, and BBQ fried rice.
Beyond the kitchen, Nichole found joy in her favorite TV shows and old-school music, always ready to dance to the tunes that filled her heart with happiness. Her vivacious spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Nichole is survived by her devoted son, Jose; her father, Lorenzo; her mother-in-law, Frances; her siblings, Chauntelle, Lori, and Fernando; and her sisters-in-law, Veronica and Vanessa, and brothers-in-law, Benji and Sebi. She is predeceased by her husband, Hemo, her mother, Lucy, her father-in-law, Ted, and her nephew, Julian, alongside many other cherished family members and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support during this difficult time. They kindly ask for continued positive thoughts, strength, and prayers for Jose as he navigates the profound loss of both parents.
Nichole's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
