November 10, 2001 — August 23, 2025

Nicholas Thompson, born on November 10, 2001, in Youngstown, Ohio, passed away on August 23, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication—a life lived with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. Nicholas, known affectionately as Nick, was a man who dedicated his life to serving others, both in his professional and personal life. He was homeschooled alongside his siblings, growing up in a close-knit church community that instilled in him the values of compassion and service. These values guided him throughout his life, from his early career in pest control to his distinguished service in the United States Marine Corps. Nick served in the USMC from 2020 to 2025, starting as part of the security forces in Kings Bay, Georgia, and later achieving his dream as an infantry scout leader at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. His commitment and dedication made him a respected leader among his peers, and his kindness and selflessness endeared him to everyone he met. Even during his hardest times, Nick always found ways to extend a helping hand to those in need. His love for life was evident in his hobbies and interests. Nick had a deep passion for fishing, hunting, and cooking. He cherished moments spent playing pool and sharing drinks with friends. He would have wanted those he left behind to celebrate his memory with a toast of Jack and Coke, Keystones, Coors, or Busch Light, raising a glass to the good times and the love he shared. Nick's family fondly remembers his enormous heart, his unwavering support, and his ability to bring light into the darkest of days. He was a man who expected nothing in return for his kindness, always putting others' happiness before his own. His friends and family, though deeply grieving his loss, are forever grateful for the time they shared with him and the love he so freely gave. Nick left behind his fiance, father, mother, older sister, brother in law, brother, sister in law, and 3 nieces. In honor of Nick's memory, the family requests that any donations be made to a charity or organization that supports veterans and their families. Nick's life was a testament to the scripture, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends," a truth that he embodied every day. Though his time with us was much too short, his impact will be felt for years to come. His family will hold a private ceremony to honor his life and legacy. May his soul find peace, and may we all carry forward the love and kindness he shared with the world.
