Nicholas Sergei Konoiko
March 23, 1998 — May 10, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas Sergei Konoiko, a beloved son, husband, brother, and friend. Nicholas departed this world unexpectedly on May 10, 2026, at the age of 28. Born on March 23, 1998, in Manhattan, New York City, Nicholas graced this world with his vibrant spirit and left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.
Nicholas was the cherished son of Sergei and Alice Konoiko, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values of kindness, selflessness, and hard work. He grew up alongside his brother, Brandon Konoiko, with whom he shared countless adventures and an unbreakable bond. Nicholas's family extended further with his father-in-law, Fred Galeno, mother-in-law, Patricia Galeno, and siblings-in-law, Freddy and Jenna Galeno, who embraced him as one of their own.
Nicholas's heart belonged to Lexy Konoiko, his loving wife, whom he first met in 2019. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and endless memories. Their union was celebrated on May 2, 2025, in a beautiful ceremony, marking the beginning of a new chapter as husband and wife. Though their time together as a married couple was short, it was filled with pure joy and unwavering devotion.
Nicholas pursued his passion for accounting with dedication and excellence. He graduated from St. John's University in 2021, earning a master's degree in accounting. His career commenced in 2020 as an intern at EY, where his talent and work ethic quickly elevated him to a full-fledged accountant. Nicholas's commitment to his profession was matched only by his dedication to those he loved.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nicholas was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. As the 91st Brother of the Rho-Sigma Chapter of the 2017 "Nu" Pledge Class, he was a remarkable leader, serving as Grand Treasurer and Grand Master. He was a beacon of positivity, always ready with a joke or a smile to brighten any room.
Nicholas found joy in a myriad of activities, from snowboarding and mountain biking to working on and driving cars—his truest passion. His love for cars came from his father and more specifically his father’s Red 1990 Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX. He had spent countless hours helping his father work on it which is what pushed his desire for cars. He cherished the great outdoors and the thrill of adventure, yet also loved quiet moments spent indoors, playing video games and sharing laughter with friends. His adventurous spirit led him and Lexy to exotic destinations, where they explored the underwater worlds through snorkeling and snuba diving.
Nicholas's essence was defined by his kind heart, selflessness, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. He was a clown at heart, bringing laughter to every situation and never shying away from being his authentic self. Nicholas was a dedicated family man, drawing inspiration from his father, whom he admired wholeheartedly. He worked diligently to provide for those he loved, ensuring their happiness and well-being.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Nicholas's life and legacy, as his family and close friends gather to celebrate the beautiful soul he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice in Nicholas's memory, as a testament to his generous and giving spirit.
Nicholas Sergei Konoiko's presence will forever be missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear Nicholas. Your laughter, love, and light will forever guide us.
