It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas Preston Cappillo, who peacefully left this world on July 22, 2026, at the tender age of 25. Born on January 23, 2001, in Canton, Ohio, Nicholas spent his final moments surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Nicholas was a beloved son to Angela and Jerome Cappillo, and a cherished brother to Jaden, Ben, and Savannah. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, including his grandparents, Susan and John Cheese of Akron, Ohio, Benny and Linda Cappillo of East Sparta, Ohio, and his Aunt and Uncle, Angela and Derek Murphy of East Sparta, Ohio. Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Preston Smith, whose spirit and legacy lived on in him.
A proud graduate of Sandy Valley High School's class of 2019, Nicholas was a dedicated member of the Sandy Valley Eagles and a spirited participant in cross country and track. His athleticism was matched by his creativity and passion, as he was an avid gamer and artist who found joy and solace in his artistic pursuits.
Nicholas's professional life was centered around his role as a bartender at the Sandy Valley Eagles, where he was known not only for his skill but for his remarkable ability to brighten the days of those around him with his infectious smile and unwavering positivity.
Nicholas shared his life with many dear friends, including Michael Lewton, Issac Knight, and Kevin McKinney, along with countless others whose lives he touched with his generosity and warmth. His love extended to his cherished pets, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care during Nicholas's final days. Their support provided comfort and peace in a time of profound difficulty.
Nicholas will be remembered for his big heart, his resilience, and his ability to light up any room he entered. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his life will be felt for years to come. Nicholas's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit that continues to inspire those who knew him.
May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
