Nicholas "Nick"

It is with deep sorrow yet immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Nicholas "Nick" Wiltz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Nick departed this world peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. Born on January 15, 1934, in the small town of Molson, Washington, Nick was the cherished son of Ruby and George Wiltz. He spent his early years in the close-knit community, developing the values of kindness and generosity that would define his life. A graduate of Moses Lake High School in 1952, Nick pursued higher education at Central Washington College and later at Saint Martin's College, where he honed his skills in engineering. A proud veteran, Nick served his country with honor during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and commitment, which he carried throughout his professional and personal life. Nick's career spanned over five decades, beginning with a distinguished tenure at the Washington State Department of Transportation, where he dedicated 35 years to improving the state's infrastructure. Following his retirement, he continued to serve the community by working another 15 years for the City of East Wenatchee. His passion for building and inspection led him to start his own successful business, Wiltz Inspection Service, which further cemented his reputation for meticulousness and integrity. A man of many talents and interests, Nick was an active member of several Masonic organizations, including the Masons, 32nd Degree York Rite, and Shriners. His involvement extended to supporting youth and women's Masonic groups, embodying his commitment to nurturing future generations. Nick was also deeply involved in his church community and found joy in the skies as a licensed pilot. Nick's personal life was marked by an unwavering love for his family. On September 20, 1958, he married his soulmate, Madlynn "Lynndy" Wiltz, in a beautiful ceremony at the Methodist Church in Ephrata, Washington. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage, filled with laughter, adventures, and cherished memories. Nick is survived by his devoted wife Lynndy; his children Christopher Lee Wiltz, Maxwell George Wiltz, and Theresa Wiltz; his brother Donald Lee Wiltz; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Don, and his son, Nicholas Mark Wiltz. A private funeral service will be held in honor of Nick's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Veteran Administration, Masonic Organizations, or Shriners' Hospitals, reflecting Nick's lifelong dedication to service and community. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the healthcare workers and caregivers who supported Nick, ensuring his quality of life was maintained with dignity and compassion until the very end. Though Nick has departed from this world, his spirit remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue to inspire generations to come.
