It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Neva Strickland, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Neva passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, on June 4, 1939, where she would begin a life filled with love, family, and community. Neva's journey with her devoted husband, David, began over 70 years ago when they married in their hometown of Goldsboro. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, moving to Virginia to establish a home filled with warmth and joy. Their love story is one of deep devotion and unwavering support, a testament to the strength and beauty of their partnership. Neva was a loving and nurturing mother to her daughters, Debra Strickland and Sharon Johnson (married to Victor). She took immense pride in her family, always putting their needs and happiness first. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her 3 cherished grandchildren: David Johnson, Ashley Pratt, and Brandi Pratt, and her 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and who brought her endless joy. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Neva's memory, reflecting the quiet grace and dignity with which she lived her life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Riverside Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Neva Strickland will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and her love for family. Her presence in the lives of those who loved her was a gift, her laughter a melody that will be missed, and her love a legacy that will endure.
