In Loving Memory

Nelson Glenn Moon
June 24, 1982 — June 25, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson Glenn Moon, beloved brother, friend, and hero, who left this world on June 25, 2026, just one day after celebrating his 44th birthday. Born on June 24, 1982, in Hagerstown, MD, Nelson lived a life marked by courage, resilience, and a steadfast spirit that inspired everyone around him. He fought a courageous and willful battle against cancer, demonstrating the same bravery he exhibited throughout his life.
Nelson was a cherished son to the late Karen Mae Stine, whose memory he held close to his heart after her passing. He is survived by his loving siblings, brother Seth Austin Wigfield, and sister Breana Alyce Wigfield, who will always remember him as a guiding light and a constant source of strength.
A proud veteran, Nelson served his country with honor as a member of the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 57th Air Defense Unit. His service took him to Iraq and Afghanistan in 2001, where he exemplified the qualities of a true soldier—courage, dedication, and a deep sense of duty.
Following his military service, Nelson channeled his leadership skills into a successful career as a Supervisor for DSV Logistics. His colleagues admired him for his ability to remain calm, cool, and efficient in the face of challenges, yet he was also known for his lively spirit, which he shared generously with those around him.
Nelson's love for music, the outdoors, shooting, and wildlife was evident in the way he spent his free time. These passions were a testament to his appreciation for the beauty and freedom of life, which he embraced wholeheartedly.
A service to honor and celebrate Nelson’s life will be held on July 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Harman's Funeral Home, located at 305 N Potomac St, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Nelson are welcome to attend.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Berkeley County Medical Center ICU for the compassionate care and support they provided to Nelson during his final days. Those who wish to honor Nelson's memory may do so by considering a donation to a charity of their choice.
Nelson Glenn Moon will be remembered for his unwavering bravery, his boundless love for life, and the indelible mark he left on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
