Born on March 27, 1934, in the humble town of Dillion, Arkansas, Neil lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to those around him. Neil was the cherished son of Fred and Shirley Brown, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness. Though Neil was predeceased by his loving parents, his spirit was a testament to their enduring love and guidance. He was also preceded in death by his dear wife, Effie Brown, with whom he shared 68 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they crafted a lifetime of memories, starting from their wedding in 1955, their shared joy in raising their son Bruce, and the countless family gatherings they hosted with warmth and laughter. Neil's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and accomplishments. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country by joining the Navy Marines, where he honed skills and values that would serve him throughout his life. Following his service, Neil embarked on a new journey as a businessman, establishing several successful enterprises in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication were admired by many, and his businesses became a cornerstone of the community. Family was at the heart of Neil's existence. He was the proud father of Bruce Brown, who, along with his wife Kristy, brought immense joy into Neil's life. Neil's legacy continues through his 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored, as well as numerous cousins and friends who were touched by his warmth and wisdom. Though Neil faced the loss of 8 brothers and 3 sisters, his resilience and love for life never waned. He found solace in the cherished memories of his siblings and embraced the comforting presence of his surviving family. His laughter, guidance, and stories will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honor of Neil's life, a private funeral service will be held on April 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Reid.
