Nedra Yvonne Talley Ross
January 27, 1946 — April 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Nedra Yvonne Talley Ross on April 26, 2026, at her cherished home, surrounded by love. Born on January 27, 1946, in the vibrant pulse of New York City, NY, Nedra's journey was one of remarkable impact, grace, and unwavering faith.
Nedra was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, Susie Mobley Talley and her father, Mr. Talley, whose love and guidance she cherished deeply. Predeceasing her are her beloved parents, her brother Craig, and her devoted husband, Scott Ross, with whom she shared a loving marriage and a passionate commitment to their shared faith and mission.
A loving and dedicated mother, Nedra leaves behind her cherished children: Nedra Kristina, Christian, Heather, and Ryan (Christine), who carry forward her legacy of love and faith. Her adoration extended to her 10 grandchildren: Chase, Brooklyn, Jamie, Jordan, Noah, Shalyn, Aiden, Ethan, Cayden, and one more whose name she held close to her heart. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was further blessed with one great-grandchild, who added another precious layer to her family tapestry.
Nedra's life was one marked by musical brilliance and spiritual devotion. At the tender age of 16, she began her illustrious singing career with her cousins as part of the iconic girl group, The Ronettes. Together, they enchanted audiences across the United States and internationally, sharing stages with legendary groups like The Beatles. After several years of thrilling performances, Nedra chose to begin a new chapter, marrying Scott Ross and embracing a purpose-driven life rooted in faith. Her devotion to Christ led her and Scott to establish Love Inn in Freeville, NY, a ministry that touched lives across the globe, from the Philippines to India. Through her voice, she sang songs that glorified God and inspired countless souls.
A dynamic and multi-talented individual, Nedra embodied the spirit of a Proverbs 31 wife. She was an entrepreneur at heart, skillfully buying and selling homes, opening a ribs restaurant, and ensuring her family was clothed in love and care for every season. Her children fondly remember her as a blessed mother, and her husband's trust in her was unwavering. From a young age, she delighted in dance, a passion that endured throughout her life, bringing joy to those around her.
Nedra's character was defined by directness and compassion. She fearlessly spoke truth in love, confronting prejudice and injustice with grace and strength. Her kindness and compassion made everyone feel at ease in her presence, and her generosity left an indelible mark on countless lives. A mentor to young women in the church, she guided many in their spiritual journeys with wisdom and love.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the Christian Broadcast Network, Murita Dairsow, her dedicated caregiver, and the many family and friends who offered their prayers and support during this time.
In celebrating Nedra's life, we honor a woman whose voice, both in song and spirit, resonated with love, faith, and generosity. As we remember her, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, courage, and faithfulness.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Nedra's life, celebrating the beautiful journey she shared with us all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity close to Nedra's heart, continuing her work in faith and love.
"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." - Proverbs 31:28
