It is with profound sadness and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Neal "Tree" Roundtree, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on April 15, 2026, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Born on July 17, 1940, in the charming town of Rosebud, Texas, Neal's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Neal was the cherished son of the late Letha and Neal Roundtree. He shared a close-knit family bond, growing up alongside his sister, the late Letha Green. The Roundtree family was a pillar of strength and unity, fostering values that Neal carried throughout his life. He is survived by his sister, Faye Nelson, and brother-in-law, Eddie Green, who have been his steadfast companions. A proud graduate of Rosebud High, Neal was a man committed to his work and community. His career, which spanned many years, was marked by dedication and diligence, earning him respect and admiration among his colleagues and friends. Neal's commitment to his faith was evident through his active participation in his church community, where he was known for his unwavering spirit and kindness. Neal's greatest pride and joy were his family. He leaves behind two devoted daughters and two adored grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. His legacy continues through them and his extended family, which includes nephews Bobby Lockett, Floyd Lockett, Clarence Nelson, Eddie Green Jr., and nieces Sharon Green, Lawanda Green, Felicia Nelson, Wanda Green, Amy Green, Debra Green. Neal was also blessed with a host of great nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Known affectionately as "Tree" by those closest to him, Neal had an undeniable presence characterized by his warm smile and gentle nature. His life was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, humility, and a deep sense of community. Neal had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to his generous spirit and loving nature. A celebration of Neal's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Bradford Dawson Funeral Home. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to gather in honor of a life well-lived.
