In Loving Memory

Neal Lane Goodman
June 8, 1962 — July 24, 2026
It is with deep sorrow yet profound love that we announce the passing of Neal Lane Goodman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Neal passed away peacefully at his home on July 24, 2026, at the age of 64, due to ischemic heart disease. He was born on June 8, 1962, in the sunlit city of Fresno, California, where he began a life that would touch many with warmth and kindness.
Neal's life was a testament to the power of love and family. For 48 beautiful years, he was the devoted husband to Terri, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and adventures. Together, they nurtured their beloved son, Harley Downey, who was the center of Neal's world. Neal's heart expanded even more when they welcomed their daughter, Megan Downey, into their family. He cherished and loved her as his own for 16 years, creating a home filled with laughter and unconditional love.
Neal was blessed with two grandchildren, Hayven and Damien Downey, whose presence brought immense joy to his life. He embraced his role as a grandfather with enthusiasm, spending countless afternoons fishing, playing ball, and cheering on his granddaughter at her cheerleading events. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he adored them with every ounce of his being.
Professionally, Neal dedicated 35 years to his work as a skilled boilermaker. His commitment and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his career, Neal's true essence was captured in the simple joys of life—his infectious laugh, his bright smile, and his boundless generosity. He was a man who would lend a hand to a stranger and offer kindness to everyone he met.
In accordance with Neal's wishes, his family will honor him with a private celebration of life at his home. This intimate gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 28th, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., where loved ones will share stories and memories of a life well-lived. In keeping with his wishes, Neal will be cremated, and no formal funeral service will take place. Those wishing to attend the celebration are kindly asked to confirm their presence by contacting his son Harley at 931-933-4260 or his daughter Megan Downey at 931-809-1797, or via email at thedowneys0504@gmail.com.
