Born on August 16, 1943, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel Thomas Sr. and Seely Thomas. From a young age, he was instilled with values of hard work, integrity, and compassion, which became the cornerstone of his life’s journey. Chicago was not just his birthplace, but the backdrop to his many adventures and the cradle of his fondest memories. A devoted family man, Nathaniel was predeceased by his beloved great-grandson, Tre'Von Jackson, whose memory he cherished dearly. He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Higgins, and her partner, Henry Jackson, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Nathaniel's legacy continues to thrive through his two cherished grandchildren, Henry Jackson and Nathaniel Jackson, who, along with his wife Melody, brought him endless happiness. Nathaniel's heart swelled with pride as he embraced the role of a great-grandfather, a title he carried with immense joy. His five great-grandchildren, Tashira Jackson, Tiana Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson Jr., and the newest addition to the family, his great-great-granddaughter, Man'Kayra Jackson, were the lights of his life. He reveled in their laughter, celebrated their achievements, and imparted his wisdom and love upon them. Throughout his life, Nathaniel was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light to those around him. He possessed an innate ability to connect with people, offering a listening ear and wise counsel to all who sought his guidance. His laughter was infectious, his hugs warm and comforting, and his words of encouragement unfaltering. Nathaniel's passion for life extended beyond his family.
