In Loving Memory of Nate Way With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nate Way, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on April 15, 2026, at his cherished home. Born on July 8, 1980, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Nate graced the world with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering strength for 45 years. Nate was the cherished son of Dave and Jan Way, who, alongside his siblings Carie (and husband Scott) Winn and Eric (and wife Doris) Way, nurtured a close-knit family where love and laughter flourished. His special bond with his nieces Aileen and Sofia, nephews Aiden and Sammy, and his beloved feline companion, Bonnie, brought endless joy to his life. Nate's family, alongside many friends, will forever hold him in their hearts, carrying forward his legacy of empathy and courage. A proud graduate of SPASH in 1999, Nate's formative years were spent at Washington School and PJ Jacob’s, where he cultivated a love for learning and a passion for helping others. His compassionate spirit was evident as he volunteered at the Monroe House and the local warming shelter, always seeking to uplift those in need and advocate for social justice. His commitment to service was reflected in his accolades as an Eagle Scout, an honor that underscored his dedication to community and leadership. An accomplished fisherman and a devoted animal lover, Nate found peace and solace in the natural world. His skill in Judo was a testament to his discipline and strength, attributes he shared generously with his family and friends. Nate's influence extended beyond his immediate circle, as he bravely addressed the challenges of living with mental illness, encouraging others to seek help and fostering a culture of understanding and support. Although Nate has joined his grandparents and several aunts and uncles who predeceased him, his spirit remains a guiding light for those who knew and loved him. To honor Nate's memory and his love for community, donations can be made to the Stevens Point Skate Park and the Community Foundation, ensuring his passion for helping others continues to thrive. A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Nate's life, where his family will gather to share stories, shed tears, and remember the laughter he brought into their lives. While the world feels a little dimmer without Nate's vibrant presence, the love he imparted endures in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. Rest in peace, dear Nate. You will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
