Nancy Mary Dooks-Meneer, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on March 16, 1946, in the small yet close-knit community of Clandonald, Alberta, Canada, Nancy was the cherished daughter of Albert and Dorothy Gladue. Nancy's life was a testament to resilience and grace. As a survivor of the residential school system, she emerged with a profound strength that she carried throughout her life. Her tenacity and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. Despite the challenges she faced, Nancy was known for her warmth, kindness, and a heart that embraced everyone she met. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Alan Meneer, and a nurturing mother to her three children, George, Neil, and Heather, who were the light of her life. Nancy's family was the core of her world, and she took immense pride in their achievements, always providing them with unwavering support and unconditional love. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved parents, Albert and Dorothy, her dear sister Elizabeth, and her nephew John Doyle. She is survived by her husband, Alan, her children, her sister Francis, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Throughout her life, Nancy was a beacon of compassion and generosity, traits that have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this difficult time. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at a later date in British Columbia, where her children will gather to honor her memory and fulfill her final wish for her ashes to be disposed of as per her request. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Nancy's memory are encouraged to make donations to a charity of their choice, in tribute to her enduring spirit and legacy of kindness.
