Nancy Lynn (Hax) Wietfeldt

Nancy Lynn Wietfeldt, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the Stratford Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Midland, Michigan, after a courageous three-year journey with Lewy body dementia. Born on December 7, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Launa (Perigo) and Robert Hax. In her early years, Nancy flourished in the community of Hemlock, Michigan, where she graduated from Hemlock High School. It was there, on March 2, 1968, that she married the love of her life, Paul E. Wietfeldt, and together they built a beautiful family and life, filled with love and laughter. Nancy and Paul were blessed with three children: Mary Ann (Randall) Keicher, Sandra Lynn (Robert) Avery, and Robert Paul Wietfeldt, who survive her. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Zachery Wietfeldt, Nicole Boks, and Courtney Avery, and her great-grandchild, Belladonna Brothers. Nancy's heart was one of boundless generosity and kindness. Her family remembers her as a social butterfly, always ready with a smile and a kind word. Her ability to brighten someone's day with a simple "Hi" and the wish for a "good day" was a testament to her warm spirit and genuine care for others. Throughout her life, Nancy was an industrious and creative soul. She dedicated over 30 years to selling Avon, building connections and friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her creativity knew no bounds as she excelled in crafting, particularly in jewelry making and creating beautiful artificial flower arrangements. Nancy was a familiar face at local craft shows, where her creations brought joy to many. A deeply committed member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Nancy's faith guided her endeavors and service. She was an active participant in the Ladies Aid and generously volunteered her time in the church's school, sharing her talents in the art room, library, and teaching sign language. Her dedication to community service extended beyond the church, as she served as a Girl Scout leader for several years, helping with cookie distribution and mentoring young minds. Nancy's memory is cherished by her surviving siblings, sister Judy Hax, brother-in-law Oscar Urivez, and sister-in-law Laura Estep, Lois Dietrich, Mary Jo Bruse, brother-in-law Harold and Angie Wietfeldt, and Waldin and Dawn Wietfeldt. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were fortunate to know her warmth and compassion. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Stratford Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and MyMichigan Hospice for their unwavering care and support during Nancy's final days. Their dedication and compassion were a source of comfort and strength for Nancy and her family. A service to honor and celebrate Nancy's life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, located at 505 E Carpenter Rd, Midland, MI 48640. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Senior Services Seasons Adult Day Health Services in memory of Nancy's generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. As we say farewell to Nancy, we remember her not with sadness but with gratitude for the love, laughter, and light she brought into our lives. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life lived with grace, compassion, and unwavering love.
