Nancy Joy Schumann Connelly

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Nancy Joy Schumann Connelly, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Nancy passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the Denver Hospice inpatient facility, following a courageous battle with heart failure. Born on July 24, 1952, in Trenton, New Jersey, Nancy was the cherished daughter of Paul Schumann and Ruth Hill, both of whom predeceased her. Her early years were filled with love and learning, and she carried those values into every aspect of her life. Nancy was married to James Connelly for 24 years, during which they shared countless memories filled with love and laughter. Nancy is survived by her loving children, David and Samantha, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was also a devoted grandmother to Graci and McKayla, with excitement awaiting the arrival of her new granddaughter, lovingly referred to as "baby girl Menu," due in late November. Nancy's career was marked by dedication and service. She worked in telehealth communications, spending 18 fruitful years with the Denver Health Poison Control Center, before retiring at the age of 70. Her colleagues and friends remember her as a reliable and committed professional who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. A woman of faith, Nancy served her church community during her younger years, passionately running the children's ministry. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was a testament to her generous spirit and love for children. Her greatest joy, however, lay in raising her own children, a role she treasured above all else. Nancy was a creative soul with a flair for the artistic. She found joy in drawing, painting, crafting, crocheting, and building intricate models of tiny houses. Her artistic talents were evident in the elaborate Halloween costumes she made and the beautiful birthday cakes she baked for her family. Nancy's home was often filled with laughter, creativity, and the comforting aroma of her culinary delights. Those who knew Nancy remember her as a loyal and trustworthy friend, someone who could be relied upon for her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laughter. Her ability to find joy in small moments was a gift she shared freely with those around her. A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy's memory to The Denver Hospice, an organization that provided exceptional care and comfort in her final days. Nancy's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
