NANCY JANE HAAG BEATY

October 13, 1932 — May 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Nancy Jane Haag Beaty, who departed this world on May 5, 2026, at the age of 93. Nancy passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by love and the warm memories of a life richly woven with love, laughter, and boundless compassion. Born on October 13, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late George William Haag and Ruth Elizabeth Bergstrom. She was raised in a nurturing home, where she learned the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family—a legacy she carried forward throughout her life. Nancy attended East High in Des Moines and later graduated from North High, where she formed lifelong friendships and began the journey of her remarkable life. Her professional path led her to a fulfilling career as an office manager for Burroughs Corporation, where her outgoing and fun-loving personality left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. In 1950, Nancy married Vernard Foster, and together they welcomed two cherished children, Gene and Nanette. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership. After Vernard's passing, Nancy found love again with Dale Beaty, with whom she shared the joy of parenting two additional children, Donald and Jo. Nancy's family grew over the years and she took great pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her family. A devout member of the Methodist Church, Nancy's faith was a guiding light in her life, offering her comfort and inspiration. Her social gatherings, whether large or small, were legendary, marked by her warm hospitality and joy in bringing people together. Her home was always open to family and friends, infused with laughter, stories, and the aroma of good cooking. Nancy's adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, yet she always returned to her roots, where her heart truly belonged. Her life was a testament to the beauty of embracing life's adventures while never losing sight of what truly matters—love, family, and friendship. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernard Foster, her husband Dale Beaty, her son Gene Foster, and her mother-in-law Evalee Cullum Haag. She is survived by her loving daughter Nanette Foster Reilly and husband John Reilly, her devoted daughter Jo Larsen and husband Dave, her dear daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Foster, her cherished grandchildren Shawna Foster and Shane Foster, and her treasured great-grandsons Mason Cornwell and Bodhi Criger. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fairwinds Desert Point and Agape Hospice for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to Hearts That Purr or St. Jude, reflecting her lifelong commitment to kindness and giving. Nancy's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, memories cherished, and her remarkable life honored. Until then, may her spirit soar, and her memory be a blessing to us all.
