Born on January 26, 1942, in the serene landscapes of Wilkes County, North Carolina, Nancy was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew her.
Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Troy and Cora Miller. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Dishman, with whom she shared an unwavering bond since their marriage on September 5, 1965. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Nancy is also reunited in peace with her siblings, Allen Miller, Rachel Dishman, and Rosa Lee Cross.
A devoted mother, Nancy is survived by her children, each of whom carry forward her legacy of love and resilience: Jimmy Dishman and his wife Melanie, Roger Dishman and his wife Lisa, and Sandra Blanton and her husband Lewis. Her nurturing spirit lives on in her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
For 33 years, Nancy dedicated herself to the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools, touching countless lives with her kindness and commitment to education.
