It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nancy Baggs, who left this world peacefully on April 11, 2026. Nancy was surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home, a place filled with cherished memories and love. She was 74 years old.
Born to William and Marion Dwyer on April 4, 1952, in Staten Island, NY, Nancy grew up embracing the vibrant life around her. She was a beacon of love and kindness, always carrying with her the values instilled by her parents and her Staten Island community.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved parents, William and Marion, and her brother, William Dwyer. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Baggs, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect, a testament to their unwavering partnership since they wed on May 29, 1971.
She was the proud and loving mother of John and Lori, Michael and Karyn, and Amy and Timmy. Nancy’s family was her pride and joy, a source of endless happiness and fulfillment. Her legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren, Taylor and Giovanna Blanco, John, Corinn, Ashley and James Mahoney, Samantha, Mackenzie, Kaitlin, Hailey, and Allie, who will always remember their grandmother as their biggest fan and most loving supporter. Although she did not have great-grandchildren, her memory and influence will resonate for generations to come.
Nancy was a woman of many talents and passions. She attended Saint Patrick's School and graduated from Tottenville High School before honing her skills at Wilfred Beauty School. Her career began in New York City with Merrill Lynch, where she excelled professionally. Later, Nancy found her true calling as a Real Estate Agent with Neuhaus Realty, where she helped many find their dream homes with her characteristic warmth and dedication.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy was an active member of her community, known for her enthusiasm both on and off the racketball court, where she enjoyed countless games with friends. Her love for sports extended to her family life, where she could often be found cheering on her children and grandchildren at the ball field, her spirit infectious and her support unwavering.
Nancy’s life will be celebrated on April 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, located at 30 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring a life so beautifully lived.
