In Loving Memory

Nancy Baggs
April 4, 1952 — April 11, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy Baggs, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on April 11, 2026, at the age of 74. Nancy departed this life in the comforting embrace of her family at her home in Great Kills, Staten Island, NY, where she was born on April 4, 1952.
The cherished daughter of the late Marion and William Dwyer, Nancy grew up in a home filled with love and joy, alongside her brother, William Dwyer, who also predeceased her. Nancy carried the values of kindness and compassion instilled in her by her parents throughout her life.
Nancy was a devoted wife to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, John Baggs. They shared an extraordinary bond, marking 54 beautiful years of marriage since their wedding on May 29, 1971. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, raising four wonderful children: John (Lori), Michael (Karyn), Amy, and Timmy. Nancy’s family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense pride in watching her family grow, welcoming nine grandchildren: Taylor, John, Corinn, Ashley, Samantha, Kaitlin, Mackenzie, Hailey, and Allie. Each grandchild was a new chapter of joy in her life, with whom she shared her unwavering support and boundless affection.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Tottenville High School. Her early career as a hairdresser allowed her to engage with her community and express her creativity. Later, she pursued a career as a real estate agent, where her dedication and warm personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her professional accomplishments were only surpassed by her devotion to her family.
A pillar of her community, Nancy was known for her constant presence at the ball fields, where she could often be found cheering on her children and grandchildren. Her enthusiastic support was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her family, and her presence at countless games and events will be sorely missed.
Nancy’s life was a shining example of love, dedication, and selflessness. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish her memory and strive to embody the warmth and kindness she provided so generously.
A service to celebrate Nancy’s remarkable life will be held on April 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Casey McCollum Rice Funeral Home. Those who had the privilege to know Nancy are invited to join her family in honoring her memory.
Though Nancy is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her love, guidance, and laughter will be fondly remembered by her family and friends, whose lives she touched in innumerable ways. In this time of mourning, may we find comfort in knowing that Nancy’s light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forever.
