McCorkle, who departed this world on April 4, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by her adoring family in the comfort of her home. Born on February 8, 1937, in Greensboro to the late Herman and Anne Beane, Nancy embodied warmth, grace, and steadfast devotion to her family and faith. She was predeceased by her cherished sister, Fay McEachern Wehmeyer, and her parents, who undoubtedly welcomed her into the afterlife with open arms. Nancy's life was a testament to love and commitment. On April 5th, she married her lifelong partner, Hutson E. McCorkle, and together they celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with three children: sons Michael and David, and daughter Kelly. Nancy's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Her academic journey led her to Brundidge High School in Alabama, followed by earning a degree in dental hygiene from the University of Tennessee Memphis. Her early career saw her traveling alongside Hutson during his service in the Air Force, with memorable stays in Turkey and Valdosta, Georgia. Nancy practiced as a part-time hygienist until her family became her primary focus, a role she cherished above all. Nancy was a woman of many talents and passions. In the late 60s and 70s, she embraced the world of yoga, becoming an instructor and advocating for wellness in every facet of life—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her devotion to God and family was unwavering, a beacon of love and faithfulness that guided her every day. Her deep commitment to her faith was reflected in her active participation at Pine Castle United Methodist Church. Nancy will be remembered for her warm and caring nature, her culinary prowess, and her ability to bring people together. She thrived in the company of friends and family, always the gracious hostess who ensured everyone felt at home. In a beautiful, touching twist of fate, Nancy's beloved Hutson joined her a week after her passing, a testament to their unbreakable bond.
