Nancy Mannix

Nancy Mannix, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2026. Born on November 28, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the cherished daughter of Pasquale and Nancy Varriale. Nancy was known for her warm and welcoming spirit, a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew her. She devoted herself tirelessly to ensuring that everyone around her felt special, thought of, and deeply loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished the time spent with them, hosting joyful family gatherings that will be fondly remembered by all. In 1978, Nancy married the love of her life, Thomas, whom she met in a serendipitous moment at a parking meter while working as a typist at Guardian Life Insurance Company. They shared 38 wonderful years together until Thomas's passing in 2016, and Nancy carried his memory in her heart every day thereafter. A proud graduate of Lafayette High School, Nancy was a woman of many interests. She found joy in playing bingo, watching her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives, and challenging herself with word puzzles. Her laughter and enthusiasm for life were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nancy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas. She is survived by her loving children, Patricia-Ann and James; son-in-law, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Nicole; and her treasured grandchildren, Ashley, Thomas, and Keira. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts, carrying forward her legacy of love and warmth. A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on September 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea, located at 5371 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10312. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman whose love and compassion touched so many.
