Nancy Appl

January 7, 1950 — July 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Nancy Apple on July 13, 2026, at the age of 76. Nancy left this world after a long, courageous battle with dementia, surrounded by the love of her family and the warmth of cherished memories. Born on January 7, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Lester and Rose Pick, and she carried their legacy of kindness and compassion throughout her life. Nancy was a devoted wife to her late husband, Michael (Mike) Apple, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage beginning on August 3, 1968. Together, they built a nurturing home and raised two remarkable sons, T.J. Apple, married to Deanne, and Josh Apple, married to Jacqueline. Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, and Porter. Throughout her more than 20-year career providing in-home childcare, Nancy cared for over 20 children, forming deep and lasting bonds with each one. Her home was a safehaven of love and learning, where she treated every child as her own. Her dedication to nurturing young lives left an indelible mark on the hearts of many families. In her retirement, Nancy and her husband Michael were active members of the Azalea City Cruisers car club in Palatka, Florida. They shared a love for classic cars and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Nancy's kindness and generosity extended beyond her family and career; she was known for her unwavering commitment to helping animals in need and assisting those less fortunate. After her beloved Michael's passing, she found happiness in not only caring for her grandson Porter, but also the clowder of stray cats that found her loving home. To ensure their health, Nancy would even trap, have them spay/neutered, and then release them again. She was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Rose Pick, her sister Patricia Pick, and her husband, Michael Apple. She is survived by her sons, T.J. and Josh, their spouses, and her three treasured grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, and Porter. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Memory Care staff at Sonata Lake Mary for their extraordinary, compassionate care throughout Nancy's stay and particularly during her final weeks and days. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the hospice nurses who provided comfort and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Nancy's spirit of generosity and love for helping others. Nancy's warmth, kindness, and selfless spirit will be dearly missed but will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
