Nancie Jean Jacobson

September 10, 1950 — May 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nancie Jean Jacobson, who departed this world on May 11, 2026, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 10, 1950, in Creston, Iowa, Nancie was a beacon of love and warmth, a woman whose heart was as vast as the landscapes she adored. Nancie was the cherished daughter of the late Royce and Geraldine Wentworth, and she has now reunited with her beloved parents; her parents-in-law, Henry and Irene Doris Jacobson; and her precious grandson, Devon Leonard Winfield, in eternal peace. On April 22, 1972, Nancie married her devoted husband, Leonard Jacobson, in Cresco, Iowa. Together they shared 54 beautiful years, raising a vivacious family in Grand Meadow, Minnesota. Their home was always filled with joy, laughter, and the occasional playful rivalry over football teams. Nancie was a passionate Packers fan and took great delight in the harmless pranks her children played on her about the Vikings. Nancie leaves behind a legacy of love embodied by her children: Nathan (Danielle) Jacobson, Nicole (William) Winfield, Niles Jacobson, and Natasha (Jason) Campbell. Her sister, Jill (Edward) Roberts, also mourns her loss. Nancie was the proud grandmother of 15 adoring grandchildren—Mika, Kyle, Colby, Oliva, Evan, Cody, Camille, Lucas, Kiana, Ryan, Avery, Caleb, Isabelle, Katrina, Tristan—and eight great-grandchildren—Stella, Rhett, Future Grandchild, Scarlett, Bennett, Beau, Paxton, Karsyn—each of whom brought her unbounded joy. Nancie’s life was a tapestry of vibrant threads, woven together by her many passions. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she nurtured not just flowers, but also her soul. She delighted in the simple pleasure of mowing the lawn and took immense pride in helping cultivate giant pumpkins. An advocate for heart health, Nancie was an avid walker and biker, whose energy and determination inspired all who knew her. Her hands were rarely still, always engaged in creating beautiful knitted and crocheted items for friends, family, and community organizations. Nancie’s creations were gifts of love, each stitch a testament to her generous spirit. Her enthusiasm extended beyond her hobbies to her role as a cheerleading coach. More than that, she was the greatest cheerleader for her family, supporting her children and grandchildren in all their pursuits. Her love for wrestling was unmatched; she was known for her spirited presence at events, sometimes needing to sit alone because of her exuberant cheering. Nancie embraced every moment with her family, attending countless events, always eager to be part of their lives. Her family was her world, and she was theirs. In her final days, Nancie received compassionate care from the Mayo Clinic staff, for which her family is profoundly grateful. They also extend heartfelt thanks to friends and family who offered love and support throughout her journey. Nancie’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will be cherished forever. A private family service will be held to honor Nancie’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Nancie's name, continuing her legacy of giving and kindness. Rest in peace, dear Nancie. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
