It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Myra Roche Jones, who left this world peacefully on May 12, 2026, just five days shy of her 69th birthday. Born on May 17, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas, Myra was a beacon of warmth, laughter, and dedication to both her family and community. Myra was the cherished daughter of Arthur and Jesse Jones, with whom she now reunites in eternal rest, alongside her brothers, Stacy and Tony, and her nephew, Chris. Her spirit and legacy live on through her surviving family, including her dear relatives Steve and Dora Jones of Watauga, Texas, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. A proud graduate of Estacado High School's Class of 1975, Myra went on to earn her degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University, a testament to her dedication and resolve. Her professional journey began at the Levelland, Texas, USPS office, where she served with diligence for nearly a decade. She later joined the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she was revered as the Manager for the Continuing Medical Education department, a role she embraced with passion and commitment. Myra's community involvement was extensive, particularly through her work with the St. Luke Baptist Church Youth Program and the Lyons Chapel Youth Program. Her dedication to nurturing young minds and spirits was a testament to her boundless love for children and her unwavering belief in the power of youth. A true basketball enthusiast, Myra found joy in the rhythm of the game, and her love for music added harmony to her life. Her ability to speak her mind with clarity and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Myra had a unique gift for bringing laughter to any situation, even during life's most challenging moments. Her vibrant personality and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals. Myra's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding dedication to the betterment of her community and the lives she touched.
