Mycuta, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 63, after bravely enduring a prolonged illness. She was born on October 6, 1962, in the vibrant city of Port Au Prince, Haiti, to her loving mother, Louise Ermina Ais, who predeceased her. Mycuta's journey began in Haiti, but her adventures took her far and wide, eventually leading her to the bustling streets of New York City. There, she pursued her passion for fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Mycuta's thirst for knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit led her to acquire certifications in real estate and cooking, fields in which she later flourished. Her culinary prowess was well-known, and she turned her love for cooking into a successful career. For many years, Mycuta worked as a freelance cook, delighting clients with her flavorful creations. Her culinary dream came to life when she opened Ma Cuisine Catering Services, a restaurant that became a hub of warmth and deliciousness for all who visited. Mycuta's zest for life was matched only by her love for her family. She was the proud mother of five children: Raheem Ais, ShaQueen Ais, Louise Harris, John Harris, and Raquel Harris. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchild, Jerod, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Gerlie Gilbert, and her nieces and nephews: Nicollete, Raquan, Louisa, Felicia, and Princess. Her great uncle Julian, godmother Antonine, and cousins Mona Williams and Stacy Depp, along with many more, will forever hold her memory close. A woman of many talents, Mycuta enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and traveling. She delighted in organizing field trips for her children, sharing with them the wonders of the world. Known for her infectious laughter and knack for storytelling, Mycuta had the unique gift of bringing people together. Her block parties were legendary, showcasing her love for community and her passion for feeding others. Her strong personality and superb networking skills were legendary, earning her the nickname "Cookie" for her delightful cooking. Mycuta's whistle could summon her children from afar, a testament to the respect and love she commanded. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, always ready with a joke or a heartfelt conversation, particularly when reconciliation was needed. A celebration of Mycuta's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Eternity Funeral Services, LLC, located at 129 Engle Street, Englewood, NJ 07631.
