My wife

September 24, 1971 — March 13, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, My Wife—known lovingly to her family and friends as Carol—who departed this world peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on September 24, 1971, in Shelbyville, Indiana, Carol lived a life full of love, warmth, and unwavering commitment to those she cherished. Carol was the cherished daughter of Sandra Wooldridge and was later adopted by the loving Deborah Dunagan-House. She rejoins her beloved brother, Timmy C. Wooldridge; her grandmother, Mary Stout; her grandfather, Floyd Wooldridge; and her dear adopted mother, Deborah House, in eternal peace. Carol leaves behind her devoted husband of 26 years, Jonathan Taylor, with whom she shared a marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership, having wed on March 24, 2000, in Shelbyville, Indiana. Her legacy lives on through her children, Joshua Fletcher (Emily) of Shelbyville, Cheyenne Coon of Franklin, and Colton Coon (Cinda) of Greensburg, as well as her cherished grandchildren. She was a sister to Paul (Henri) Wooldridge of Illinois and an adopted sister to Deborah (Juan) Bonilla of Shelbyville, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Carol’s vibrant spirit touched countless souls, including her nieces, Christina Smothers (Larry), Lacey (Shawn) Sturgill, Taylor (Art) Alejo, Bailey (Ruben), and Payton Johnson of Shelbyville, and Julliann Flenner of Franklin. Her nephews, Justin Holt of Greensburg, Gage Seaborn of Florida, and David Pierce of Shelbyville, along with her great-niece, Chelsey Stephens, and great-great-nephew, Westin Stephens, all carry forward her spirit of kindness and compassion. An alumna of Blue River Career Center, Carol dedicated her professional life to making the world a better place. As an environmental engineer at Ashford Place Health, she was committed to preserving our planet. Her compassionate nature shone through in her years managing daycare services, where she nurtured and cared for countless children with the tenderness only she could provide. Carol was a woman of many talents and passions. Her love for interior design and crafts was only rivaled by her enthusiasm for softball and roller skating. She was also a gifted writer, pouring her heart and creativity into the stories she penned. Above all, Carol possessed an extraordinary gift for making people feel truly listened to. Her empathetic nature made her a confidante, counselor, and open ear for anyone in need. She was always there to lend a helping hand or a comforting word, embodying the true spirit of friendship and family. Carol’s best friend, Kala Paxton of Shelbyville, and many others who knew her, will forever remember her for her boundless love and generosity. She was a beacon of light, offering hope and warmth to everyone she encountered. As we gather to celebrate Carol’s remarkable life, we remember the love she gave unconditionally, the joy she brought into our lives, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, living on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. In honoring Carol’s memory, let us strive to emulate her kindness, to listen with open hearts, and to love without reservation. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her light continues to shine brightly in our lives. A private family service will be held to honor Carol's life, with a public celebration of her life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Carol’s memory, as a testament to her lifelong dedication to helping others.
