With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of our beloved, Kiyiel Reid, who departed this world far too soon on March 17, 2023. Born on February 26, 2003, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, Kiyiel was a beacon of light and love, deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kiyiel was the adored son of Shanequa Reid and the late John Gilliam, who predeceased him along with his uncles Tacuma Grant, Ithamar Grant, and Balford Reid. Kiyiel's remarkable life continues to be celebrated by his loving mother Shanequa, his devoted brother Isryael Herbert, and his dear sister Nylah Reid. He also leaves behind his cherished grandmother, Paulette, affectionately known as Ms. P, and a large, loving family of uncles, aunts, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.
An alumnus of Mountain View High School, Kiyiel pursued his passion for music with a zest that was contagious. His soulful creations can be heard on platforms like Amazon Music and Spotify, where his spirit lives on in every note and lyric. Kiyiel's love for reading, basketball, and video games enriched his life and brought him joy.
Known for his captivating eyes and energetic spirit, Kiyiel had an extraordinary ability to bring laughter and light wherever he went. His charisma and jovial nature made him a magnet for smiles, and his presence could illuminate any room. Kiyiel had a unique gift for making people feel loved and cherished, a testament to his kind and generous heart. His smile, a reflection of his inner warmth and joy, will be profoundly missed.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kiyiel's life on June 27, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the Mill Creek Plantation Clubhouse, located at 2335 Valley Mill Dr, Buford, GA 30519. As we gather to honor Kiyiel, we remember the laughter, love, and light he brought into our lives.
