Born to the late Doris B. Evans and Melvin Kelley, [My Mother] was the embodiment of kindness, warmth, and quick wit. Her parents, along with her beloved sisters, Theresa D. Kelley and Vickie Kelley, who predeceased her, set the foundation for a life steeped in love, resilience, and unwavering support.
[My Mother]'s legacy is carried forward by her devoted children, La’-Rissa Jean Kelley, Derrick Jermain Kelley, and Anthony Lee Kelley, whose lives she enriched with her guidance, laughter, and unconditional love. Her spirit and values continue to shine brightly through her five grandchildren: Mariah La’-Jae Kelley, Anthony Lee Kelley Jr., Aaliyah Kelley, Antwane Kelley, and Derrick Kelley Jr. Each carries a piece of her heart and her teachings, ensuring that her light will continue to touch the world for generations to come.
In addition to her immediate family, [My Mother] leaves behind her cherished sister, Rosie Marie Kelley, who shared in the joys and challenges of life with her, as well as her nephews, Andre’ Kelley, Steven Portman, Bruce Portman, and her niece, Erica Kelley. Their lives are richer for having known the love and closeness of such a remarkable woman.
A woman of profound generosity and sharp intellect, [My Mother] was celebrated for her quick comebacks and her incredibly giving heart. Her humorous quips and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on all who had the honor of knowing her. She was a beacon of strength and grace, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand, forever putting the needs of others before her own.
