My Mom Romualda Victoria

September 14, 1937 — March 31, 2026

With hearts heavy yet filled with gratitude for the love she shared, we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, Romualda Victoria. She left this world on March 31, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family at her home, a place that resonated with the warmth she cultivated throughout her life. Romualda was born on September 14, 1937, in Sao Bento Terceira Azores, a picturesque island that shaped her resilient and nurturing spirit. She was the beloved daughter of João Ferreira da Ascenção Toste and Maria do Carmo Ferreira. Her early years were spent surrounded by her siblings Joao, Antero, Nelson, Antonio, Juca, Idalina, Maria, Lourdes, and Francisco Ferreira, who predeceased her. These familial bonds fostered a deep sense of family that Romualda carried with her throughout her life. In 1962, Romualda married the love of her life, Mateus Victoria, in Terceira Azores. Their union spanned an incredible 60 years, during which they raised two sons, Luis and Daniel Victoria, in a home brimming with love and laughter. Together, they achieved the American dream, a testament to their shared strength and commitment. Her legacy is carried forward by her sons, her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Victoria, and her adored grandchildren Sabrina, Mathew, and Brooke Victoria, who were the light of her life. Romualda was a devoted homemaker, dedicating herself to nurturing her family with unconditional love and care. She was also a committed employee at Weston Foods, where she worked for over 30 years. Her dedication extended beyond her family and work to her community, where she was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Ripon, California. Her hands were never idle; Romualda found joy in crocheting, knitting, and cooking. These hobbies were more than pastimes—they were expressions of her love, as she often gifted her creations to family and friends. She had a special fondness for her work at Hunts Wesson Foods, where she relished her time in the cannery, stemming from a deep-seated love for her community and its people. Our family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to those who assisted in caring for our mom and to all who have reached out with condolences. Your kindness and support have been a comfort to us during this difficult time. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led—a life filled with love, kindness, and an unyielding dedication to family and community. Romualda Victoria’s legacy of love and strength will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the gentle wisdom she imparted. She will be deeply missed but remembered with fondness and joy by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
