In Loving Memory

Charlotte L Moyer
December 16, 1949 — April 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known to many simply as "Char." Born on December 16, 1949, in the warm embrace of Omak, Washington, she left this world on April 1, 2026, following a tragic situation. Her journey, though now complete, remains a cherished legacy that will forever be engraved in our hearts.
Daughter of Merle and Merge Jackson, My Mom grew up in Omak, where she graduated from Omak High School in 1968. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of dedication, love, and resilience. She devoted 25 years of her career to Burger King, where she was celebrated for her unparalleled customer service—a testament to her unwavering commitment and work ethic. Her efforts were acknowledged by the Chamber of Commerce of Omak, a recognition she held dear.
In 1984, fate introduced her to Robert L. Moyer, her future husband and the love of her life. Together, they embarked on a journey that spanned 30 wonderful years. Their relationship was a delightful symphony of joy and laughter, reminiscent of Ma and Pa Kettle, filled with adventures across various Elk events, exhilarating rodeos, and serene camping trips with friends. Their union was not just a partnership but a lively dance of companionship and love, a testament to a life well-lived.
As an active member of the Elks, alongside her late husband, she found purpose and camaraderie. Her love for life extended to the simple joys of living on the "poor farm," where she found peace and happiness in nurturing her barn cats, feeding the birds, and doting on her cherished dogs.
Her warmth was her greatest gift to the world, a trait that defined her as a loving mother and grandmother. She was strict yet nurturing, always striving to bring out the best in her children and grandchildren, of whom she was immensely proud. Her legacy lives on through her children: Melvyn Houtz, Rex Moyer, Cheryl Moyer Hall, and Sue Moyer-Hillstrom; her grandchildren: Emily Houtz, Avery Houtz, Nathaniel Bruhn, among others, and her great-grandchildren, Ava Grey and Konner Bruhn.
Predeceased by her parents, Merle and Merge Jackson, her loving husband Bob Moyer, and former husband Melvin Houtz, she now rests in peace, leaving behind her sister Rhonda Jackson, nephew Tony Rodriquez, niece Megan Davison, and cousin Kenny Hopkins, who continue to celebrate her life and legacy.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 11:00 PM at the Omak Memorial Cemetery, 2517 Elmway St, Okanogan, WA 98840. As we gather to remember her, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Elks family, River Valley funeral home, and the entire community for their unwavering support during this trying time.
In celebrating her life, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the warmth of family gatherings, and the love that binds us all. She will forever be a beacon of love and strength, guiding us through the days ahead.
