In Loving Memory
Michael A. Williams
May 19, 1962 — April 15, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved member of our family, my great uncle, who departed this world on April 15, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on May 19, 1962, in Norfolk, Virginia, he was a gentle soul who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
The son of the late Lilian Archer-Williams and Willy J. Williams, he grew up in a loving family, surrounded by his siblings and the warmth of a close-knit community. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved brothers, Rollard A. Williams and Willy A. Williams, who have now welcomed him into their eternal embrace.
A proud graduate of Lake Taylor High School, class of 1980, my great uncle pursued his passion for culinary arts, dedicating his career to serving others as a proficient and hard-working line cook. Known for his quiet and soft-spoken demeanor, he found solace in the simple joys of life, cherishing moments of peace and relaxation. His soft smile was a beacon of kindness, offering comfort and warmth to all who crossed his path.
He leaves behind a family who adored him, including his siblings Deborah Archer-Williams, Aaron Ashanti, Alvin Archer-Williams, Arthur Williams, Arnold Williams, Lester Williams, and Dwight Williams. They will forever carry his memory in their hearts, remembering the gentle spirit who taught them the value of kindness and the beauty of a life lived with grace and humility.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan Berkley Funeral Home, located at 120 West Berkley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23523. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life that touched so many with quiet strength and unwavering love.
As we bid farewell, we find solace in the words of a special message from the family:
"UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
We think about you always.
We talk about you still.
You have not been forgotten, and you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain.
To walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again."
In honoring his memory, let us carry forward the values he exemplified throughout his life—compassion, humility, and a gentle spirit. Though he may have left this earthly realm, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
