It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, My Grandmother, who peacefully departed this world on April 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final moments, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering strength. Born on May 24, 1955, in the quaint town of Statenville, My Grandmother was the cherished daughter of Trenton and Angela Powell. Her early years in Statenville laid the foundation for a life rich in compassion and community spirit. Guided by her parents, she cultivated a deep sense of empathy and resilience that would touch the lives of many. Throughout her life, My Grandmother exemplified the virtues of love and perseverance. She had an innate ability to bring happiness to those around her, often through simple acts of kindness and her infectious laughter. Her home was always open, a sanctuary filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the sound of joyful conversations. She believed in the power of family and friends, and she took immense pride in nurturing those relationships. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, embracing everyone as if they were her own. My Grandmother was predeceased by her loving parents, Trenton and Angela Powell, and her dear brother, Willie Powell. Their memories were always close to her heart, and she spoke fondly of them, drawing strength from their shared stories and cherished moments. Her life was a testament to resilience and grace, qualities she embodied even in the face of adversity. Her battle with cancer was fought with dignity and courage, inspiring those around her to treasure each moment and to face challenges with bravery. As we bid farewell, we remember her not only for the love she gave but also for the lessons she imparted. She taught us the importance of kindness, the strength in vulnerability, and the value of a life lived with purpose and integrity. Although she is no longer with us, My Grandmother’s spirit will forever be a guiding light, a beacon of hope and love. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in every life she touched, and in the stories we share. In honoring her memory, we gather to celebrate a life well-lived, a life that brought immeasurable joy and left an indelible mark on this world. May her soul rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved family, and may we carry forward her legacy with the same grace and love that she so generously shared with us all. A private service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to a cancer research organization of your choice, reflecting her unwavering hope for a brighter tomorrow.
