--- March 20, 1951 - May 26, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of "My Dad," a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in the warm embrace of his family, who were his greatest treasure and joy. Born on March 20, 1951, in the quaint town of Norwalk, Ohio, he was the cherished son of Joseph and Elaine (Buck) Boes. "My Dad" was a proud graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, class of 1969, and later pursued his passion for learning, earning a degree from Malone University in 1994. His life was a testament to determination and resilience, beginning with his service in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication to his country were paralleled by his commitment to his family and community. A career spanning 35 years at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company saw him rise through the ranks due to his unwavering work ethic and integrity, before retiring in 2011. His colleagues and friends remember him not just as a mentor but as a man of genuine warmth and kindness. On May 7, 2016, "My Dad" found his soulmate in Ruby, with whom he shared a deep love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, music, and family. His daughters—Joy (Mike) Lyle, Mary Miller, Melissa (Tim) Simmons, and Kathryn (Dan) Schlue—held a special place in his heart. He was a proud and involved father who celebrated each of their milestones with enthusiasm and pride. His legacy continues through his 13 adoring grandchildren: Ansley, Camden, Davis, Jake, Ava, Lila, Mick, Jaylin, Stevie, Kelly, Colin, Kate, and Carly. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Mylah and Brielle, who brought him immense joy. He is survived by his brother, Ed (Vicki) Boes, his sister Marylou (Dan) King, and a host of nieces and nephews who cherished his stories, wisdom, and humor. "My Dad" had an unmatched zest for life, expressed through his passions. His love for music was evident in his mastery of the guitar and piano, and he found joy in the camaraderie of pickleball. Ever the craftsman, he never met an art project, craft, or home project he couldn’t master, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and love in every piece he touched. Preceded in death by his dear parents, Joseph and Elaine, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with them. "My Dad" will be remembered for his generous spirit, his steadfast love for family, and his ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and laughter. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the indelible impact he left on all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed but eternally remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. A memorial service will be held to honor his life, and details will be shared with family and friends in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in "My Dad's" memory, reflecting his spirit of giving and community service. Rest in peace, dear "My Dad." Your legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all. ---
